Where to watch movies in Bali
For when you want to swap coconuts for popcorn, here are some of our favourite places to catch movies in Bali.
If you live up around Seminyak or Canggu, unfortunately you will have travel a bit to get to a larger cinema. Your options are Kuta (Beachwalk), Sunset Road (Galeria), or Denpasar (Level 21). All the cinemas are in shopping centres; the Beachwalk cinema is probably the nicest option of the lot.
If you want to treat yourself, catch a film in the Premier Class (like Australian Gold Class), available at either Beachwalk or Level 21. Popcorn, a large soft chair, and a blockbuster film = a great night out.
Luna 2 Lunaplex
Hidden beneath Seminyak’s boutique Luna 2 hotel is the luxurious 16-seat Lunaplex. It’s open to outside guests, they only ask for a minimum spend of RP200K per person. With champagne, popcorn-infused cocktails, and foie gras ‘bling dogs’ that shouldn’t be too hard of a task…
Divine Earth Cinema Club
If raw organic food is more up your alley than popcorn, this is the venue for you. Situated above the cafe of the same name, Divine Earth plays a mix of new-ish releases and classics. Sit back and enjoy your surround sound film with and a clean food conscience.
The Joglo – Wednesday Night Movie Club
Grab a bean bag and a cocktail in the Joglo’s spacious garden and settle in for the Wednesday night movie. They also have food and drink specials for the night, so The Joglo’s fabulous food will quickly take care of any hunger pains.
