Bali’s Best Cheap Massages Under $10

Bali best cheap massages

*Updated for 2018*

You can barely walk down the street in Bali without tripping over a few spas. There are expensive ones, and there are cheap ones, it’s finding the good cheapies which are the real unicorn hunt.

Any expat here worth their organic coconut oil has a few massage go-to spots saved in their phones. These are some of our (and our local friends’) favourite cheap massages.

Bening Spa – Best value

This place is down Batu Belig quite close to the beach – perfect after a sunset coconut at 707. The sign isn’t the most obvious, so you need to keep an eye our for the place (on the left-hand side heading towards the beach, across the street from the money changer is a good landmark).

The newly renovated massage room is in a building set back from the road, so it’s relatively quiet from traffic noise. You may occasionally have to listen to large groups of Germans settling in, but otherwise, it’s just you and your spa music.

They’re open late, and we recommend booking.

Tranquility Spa – Best for backs

Lila, the owner of Tranquility and her other masseuses know their stuff. It’s not a physio, but if you have pulled a muscle somewhere, they can work longer on that area and you will definitely come out feeling less tight.

They put a mask over your eyes when you’re on your back, put a pillow under your knees, and use coconut oil. You are also in your own walled room, so overall this place is a bargain for the service.

Sisu – Best muscle work

At the top of Petitenget right before the Batu Belig turnoff, this is another blink and you’ll miss it establishment (it’s across the street from a cafe called Home Mate, and next to a clinic).

The place itself is nothing to write home about, but the massages are superb. We like Sisu because they get into our muscles. If you’re sore from too much surfing, they’ll sort you out.

Murano Spa  – Best for relaxing

Murano Spa entry area

Murano Spa is very zen, lots of running water and you get a private room which is nice.

They also offer a free shuttle service around Seminyak, perfect if you don’t want to think about traffic after one of their slow and relaxing massages.

Go Massage – A new initiative from the good people over at Go-Jek, massages can be ordered to the comfort of your own home (an idea we at The Dose can fully get around!). There are a few services available, and you can choose the gender of the masseuse who visits.

Take your IV to the next level and order a foot massage at the same time *bliss*.

Booked through the Go-Life App.
Cost: From RP 70K
