Meet the locals – Veronica from Last Hurrah

Veronica Neil is the brains behind the brand new hens/general good-time planner that is Last Hurrah. After working on a similar venture in Australia, once she found herself in Bali she saw a “Last Hurrah” sized gap in the market to do something similar. We’re so glad she did, because their packages sound amazing (especially, *ahem*, the Hangover Happy Place…). We had a chat with Veronica about how to throw a good party, and what she loves most about her new home.

Last Hurrah Bali Bucks Party

What was the process from living in Australia to launching the Last Hurrah in Bali?

Launching Last Hurrah in Bali was not something that I was aiming to do! We come here for a change in lifestyle and for the overall experience. But once we were here, we saw that no-one was doing it the way we do and people started saying “Why don’t you do it here!” It was a no-brainer really.

What tips have you learned for hosting an unforgettable hens/bucks part?

Take the space you are given to create something different. Personalise your event and always, always include Mojitos 😉

What are some of your go-to crowd pleaser cocktails?

Mojitos, Expresso Martini and The Son in Law.

Last Hurrah Bali Cocktails

Last Hurrah have a cocktail safari package, what are some of the highlight stops?

Ku De Ta at Sunset! It is magic at that time so we try to time the tour for guests to be there then. Beach front. Pool-side. Amazing cocktails. Gracious staff. The vibe is definitely a highlight in itself.

What are some of your favourite venues in Bali to host a party at?

I love villa parties. It is personal, and you can style it exactly the way you want.

Having lived the expat life in Bali for over a year, how would you spend your perfect “Bali day”?

Gym, then a chilled-out lunch at a beach front restaurant (we love Echo Beach Club) The BBQ buffet there is amazing, then ruin all that hard work at the job and have a few after drinks at Old Man’s. ☺ I love going to all of Bali’s iconic venues but if I just want a chilled day off, that is my happy place.

What are the best souvenirs to bring back to Australia?

Crochet Bikini, Kopi Luwak Coffee, and I really want a ‘Ticket to the Moon’ hammock!
