Ubud Guide: Brunch

To celebrate our Bali expansion, we have put together some guides to our new Ubud home. This area has become something of a foodie paradise, so let’s kick these guides off with our favourite meal of the day: brunch.

watercress Ubud

Watercress Ubud

The sister restaurant to our Batu Belig favourite. You can also rely on the Watercress crew for expertly poached eggs and well-made coffee. They also have a happy hour featuring their hand-crafted cocktails, and events and live music (watch their Facebook page).

The elephant cafe ubud

The view from The Elephant

The Elephant

This earth-friendly, vegetarian cafe is located alongside Ubud’s famous Campuhan ridge, making it a perfect post-walk pit stop for refuelling and enjoying the epic view. They boast an eclectic choice of brunch dishes and good coffee.

Sari Organic Cafe Ubud

Sari Organic Cafe

Sari Organik

The ultimate Ubud experience; give yourself some time to wander through the rice fields and end the stroll at Sari Organik, where simple rustic dishes taste amazing thanks to produce which is grown on their own farm (or from other local organic farmers).

zest cafe ubud

Zest Cafe

As hip as it gets, this uber healthy vegan restaurant is the place to be seen in Ubud right now. Excellent people watching and tasty jackfruit dishes. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for events and live music (if coming for breakfast wasn’t enough).

Sweet Orange Ubud

Sweet Orange Warung

Sweet Orange Warung

Located about a 20-minute walk out of Ubud, this is the place to come for more traditional food and some serenity from the hustle of Ubud’s streets.

yellow flower ubud

Yellow Flower

Yellow Flower Cafe

Not one you often see recommended, but we love cafes like this: they are not trying too hard, which is rather refreshing, to say the least in a town full of spiritual gangsters. Tasty fresh food in a super cute location worth climbing the steps for!

cafe vespa Ubud

Cafe Vespa

Cafe Vespa

Located just outside the Ubud centre, this is one of the area’s expats’ best kept secrets. Cafe Vespa features an in-house bakery for the ultimate fresh bread. On Wednesday evenings they have live music.

Kafe Ubud

One of Ubud’s most popular cafes and meeting spots (deservedly so). Kafe serves up tasty food with a range of vegetarian and vegan options, centrally located so also perfect for popping in for a smoothie after a long day of shopping.

Muse Ubud

Muse Cafe

An airy contemporary cafe and gallery located just north of Ubud. Come for the tranquillity, stay for the coffee. On Sundays they have a jazz brunch to really start the day off right.

Casa Luna Ubud

Casa Luna

Casa Luna

Featuring a wide-ranging menu and cosy decor, Casa Luna has been an Ubud favourite for more than 25 years. The Bali paella has to be the only of its kind, and their lime tart has been deemed on of the island’s best. They also have a cooking school and frequent events.

milk and madu ubud

Milk & Madu Ubud

Milk and Madu

The Ubud sister to the Canggu classic cafe, this place also boasts brunch favourites and a pizza oven for lunch and dinner. Check their Facebook page for their two for one pizza days.
